Cherry Cinnamon Roll Cobbler

About a week ago my friend Dawn from Spatulas On Parade posted a recipe I instantly fell in love with and I knew I had to make it asap! Memorial Day seemed to be the perfect day for this to-die-for dessert. The original recipe is called Apple Cinnamon Delight (simply click the name and you will get there), but since I made it for an American holiday, I wanted to bring some red, white and blue color to it and went for cherry pie filling instead of apples and got a little “creative” with the icing (Yes, I call adding food color creative). But in case you don’t like cherries, head on over to Dawn to see her apple version :)The result was like expected – absolutely DELICIOUS! The colors came out so nice – it was the star at our Memorial Day dinner. It tastes great. Sweet from the icing, sour from the cherries and earthy-nutty from the rolls and walnuts. Texture wise you can expect an adventure, reaching from fluffy, to smooth and sticky over crunchy.
Now what are you waiting for?! Grab a pie filling (no sugar added) some cinnamon rolls and push it in the oven :)

But wait! In case you don’t like cinnamon rolls I do have a solution for that too – just a little under the recipe :)
