italian sausage fried rice
Since I had Fried Rice the first time when I was a child, I am in love with it! About 10 years ago I bought a Wok only to be able to make good fried rice at home! I had to figure out, that fried rice in the US is made different than in Germany. I don't really enjoy the take-out one here! Chinese take-outs here do not use sesame oil (at least not the ones I have around here).
Besides the Italian Sausage, this is basically my go-to recipe for fried rice! It never fails and always satisfies!
If you can, please cook the rice one day ahead! If you want to substitute the sausage with chicken, use chicken stock instead of veggie stock.

What you need

1 cup rice, cooked (if possible the day before)
1 cup Italian sausage (the precooked one)
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 small onion, chopped
3/4 cup peas, frozen
1/4 cup vegetable stock
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon red curry paste
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 Tsp sesame oil
How you make it

  • Spray your Wok with cooking spray and bring over medium heat
  • Add onions and sausage and cook until onions are translucent and sausage is slightly browned
  • Add rice, vegetable stock, curry paste, garlic and peas
  • Cook until all liquid is absorbed
  • Now make some space in the middle of the wok and add the slightly beaten eggs
  • When eggs have stocked start mixing them with the rice mixture
  • Add ginger, nutmeg and sesame oil
  • Stir well and serve

Hhhmmmm.... I never thought about making fried rice at home. You've opened up a whole new world. My hubby loves sausage. This would be a great treat for him!

I am also a fan of fried rice and have made it different ways. I just printed it up to make it, yet, another way.
