I have made it my goal to make one dish a week, that costs less than 2 dollar a person but includes sides as well! So this here is my first one - completely out of the dollar store! And no, don't judge now and tell me something about it being unhealthy! If you do eat the right serving size (what you see on the picture), it is absolutely OK and NOT unhealthy!

You can also freeze leftover sauce just fine and use it for another dish in the future (saves money once again)!
This recipe serves 6 people - looking at 7 dollars spent - we have a dish here that costs $1.17 a person, includes veggies, sides and meat and won't ruin your shape!

What you need (all ingredients from the dollar store)

2 packages frozen meatballs
1 bottle hot sauce
2 bottles grape jelly
1 package elbow noodles
1 package broccoli, frozen
How you make it

  • Place hot sauce, jelly, and frozen meatballs in slow cooker and cook on low for 4 hours
  • Lay the broccoli out to thaw
  • Cook noodles according to package directions and throw in the broccoli for the last 3-4 minutes of boiling
  • Drain noodles and broccoli and serve with meatballs
