Double Chocolate Applesauce Cake (Microwave)

Either way this Double Chocolate Applesauce Cake is made for moments like that! It’s healthy, low fat, super fast to make and extremely delicious.
Many microwave cakes are simply spongy and dry. Well, not this one. Yes it does take more than 2 minutes, but for that it’s super fluffy and wet and the chocolate chips inside are melted but not disappeared. Put your favorite frosting or other topping on and within 20 minutes you have a wonderful cake, that everyone will love!

Double Chocolate Applesauce Cake (Microwave)

What you need
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
  • 1½ cups fat free milk
  • ½ cup applesauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 up all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder
  • 1½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • ⅓ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
How you make it
  1. Combine milk and oatmeal in a microwave safe bowl
  2. Microwave on high for 2 minutes
  3. In a large bowl mix applesauce, sugar, vanilla, eggs, flour, cocoa, baking soda, cinnamon and salt until well combined and smooth
  4. Add milk/oat mixture, stir until smooth
  5. Fold in chocolate chips
  6. Transfer into 8 inch microwave safe baking dish
  7. Microwave on 50% powder for 6 minutes
  8. Microwave on high additional 6 minutes
  9. Wait 2 minutes before you take it out of the form
  10. Let cake cool for 10 minutes then bring on your favorite frosting/topping or simply eat it plain ;)
